Harnessing data innovation for migration policy in Europe and Africa: State of the art and future directions
The event is organised within the framework of the Big Data for Migration Alliance (BD4M) – a joint initiative of the European Commission Knowledge Centre on Migration and Demography (KCMD), IOM’s Global Migration Data Analysis Centre, and the NYU Governance Lab (GovLab) – in close collaboration with the African Union (AU), the Robert Bosch Foundation, and with support from the German Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI).
The event will bring together experts in governments, international organisations, the private sector, and civil society to discuss how to accelerate the use of new data sources for migration-related policymaking. It will explore good practices in harnessing data innovation for migration analysis and policy in Europe and Africa, identify policy priorities that are driving the need for innovation, and contribute to defining future steps and capacities required to develop data innovation initiatives at scale.
